A Solar Patio Light No Matter What You Call It Still Is A Solar Path Light?
There are many advantages to using solar lighting over traditional outdoor lighting. With what you save in installation and on your power bill, you could probably put up with slightly dimmer lighting. While there is a variety solar lighting available, this is somewhat complicated by the way they are named. For example, the very same light might change its name by the way it is used. Now when placed in your garden it becomes a solar garden light. If you place it along the walkway you could get away with calling it a solar path light, and to carry this even further if you put it on your patio or in your yard, you could get away with calling it solar patio lights or if solar yard light.
On the other end of the line, people selling solar lights name them according to what people are searching for. It is very easy to get confused by all this. A drastic example of this is the term “Kichler solar lights”. So many people look for these, but there is no such thing as “Kichler solar lights”. That doesn’t really matter, websites will still optimize for this nonexistent product, because people look for it. Potential customers land on these pages and can’t figure out why what they search for isn’t there, though they will find lighting of some sort. Since people are looking for them, Kichler should make solar lights.
Now to get back on topic here, solar outdoor lighting tends to get named after the way it is used, but since many lights can be used in more than one way, they tend to be called by different names. Another broad category is solar accent lights, a category which encompasses even solar floodlight, because they are often used to highlight features in the yard.
Relying on the pictures might prevent the confusion in terms. You know how you want to use the light, so hopefully you will recognize it when you see it. As they say, a picture is worth 1000 words, and this is especially the case here.
In my humble opinion, using solar lighting is a wise decision, because it saves on your electric bill, and cost virtually nothing to install. In addition to looking at pictures, be sure to read the descriptions in order to get an idea of the quality of the product. Surf wisely!
